I really enjoyed everyones final project and the way that everyone had a different idea. I think that it was pretty interesting the way that all of us used the projector and made it a portable object that could move and fit into any space provided. I really liked my feedback, I think the video aspect of my piece personally was a little weak and would have benefited with testing but that was a bit out of my control, so next time hopefully if I should further this project I could correct it. I really am glad that my audience was able to understand the piece and pick up on the hidden subtleties and I hope they enjoyed the performance aspect. I can say now that it was definitely out of my comfort zone and terrifying to perform and that I dont think I am cut out to be a performance artist! But it was a great experience and I am glad that I gave it a shot.

Final Critique Response
I was happy to see everyone in the class go out with a bang. I think a lot of us learned to work through and around a large amount of technical issues and I can definitely see the growth from the first project to where we ended up. We had such a great group of people and I'm so glad to have been around you guys! Each of you gives amazing advice and you're 80% of the reason I made an improvement in video art. I know we all have different majors but I hope we'll have a class or two in the future.

Final Critique Response
Completely in awe with us all. I honestly can say each installation had something very unique and special, that made it such a success. So much creativity and approach is seen in each one of our works, I am truly inspired by us all. Installations ARE ALWAYS stressful, but they are also the most fun in my opinion, and I enjoyed each one. The feedback I received definitely echoed my own thoughts, and I thank the class and Su for all of your Honesty throughout the semester.
Happy Holidays!!!
Final Crit Response
Everyone's final projects were incredible. It was fun and quite an experience to see all the ways everyone went with their project--everyone's was completely different, exciting, and memorable, and all the pieces reflected the artist who worked on it. I love to see how the projects all are distinguishable from one another--I feel as though even if I werent aware of who made what, I could figure it out, and I'm glad to see this as a sign of how everyone evolved through the semester. The effort everyone put into their projects is obvious, and it really showed through during the critique. I'm thankful to have shared this class with everyone, and I'm so happy to see the ways through which everyone has excelled in the medium. While I feel my progress may not have been up to par with everyone's (I may be overly critical--I worked and worked on this project, so it's flaws are evident to me), I still feel as though I've definitely grown and become more comfortable with Time Based Media, and that this final project was the best example I have to show for that.
Final Project Critique
The final project crit was great. Everyone had a wide variety of video projects. I think all of the projects can be continued if my classmates wanted them to go on further. My own project turned out better than expected and I was extremely happy that you all noticed the amount of effort I had to put into in.

Final Crit Response
Final crit was great, and I was so impressed with everyone's final pieces! It's been wonderful getting to know everyone and their unique styles, and I can easily say that everyone's pieces were successful and we have grown as a class.
I thank everybody for their feedback throughout the semester, this class has unleashed an interest for film I didn't realize I had.

Final Critique Response
Overall I really enjoyed the final critique! Everyone had a different idea, vision, and execution; it was awesome. I really enjoyed something out of each person's piece! I think my favorite was Isabella and Scarlett's work. With Isabells's I just enjoyed how vulnerable and intimate it was. With Scarlett I love how she explored the movement of these deceased creatures. Yes, everyone did a great job. I'm glad we could finish them all in one day because I enjoyed watching and participating in all of them. I think it would have been cool if we could have done one other project in this matter because it makes a huge difference on how the audience feels by the way you present your video. I believe this project was my favorite, I just enjoy installations in general. I'm very happy with the way my installation turned out. I was very worried about how I should present my video and then I had a lot of technical issues, but it all ended up working out. The size of the screen/projection was perfect and the whole dark space was nice. I wanted it to just be the video and the audience with little distractions and it all worked out. Su also helped me with many of my technical issues, thanks. This project was awesome. Going into this time-based media and video work was new to me. I've learned a lot and I hope to make many more projects using the skills and techniques that I've learned in the class. It's been a journey with this class and we all made it! Great work everyone! Happy Holidays!
Final Project Results
Overall I'm very happy with how my installation turned out. The screen size, the room, the darkness; I think it all just flowed. Below are pictures of how it turned out. After spending hours editing and having techniques issues all the way through, even while I was trying to present, I believe it all come together the way I envisioned it. It's a very fulfilling experience to have my project come out the way I planned.

Reading Response- Extra Credit
Video Installation- "The Body, The Image, and the Space-In-Between"
Final Project Update
All in all, very comfortable with this last project. Most of my footage has already been taken, all that's left is the compilation and final editing. Surprisingly enough I am still sticking to my original idea, of showing the complications of love through the eyes of a women- we have a constant need to be assured that we are loved, and yet even with this assurance, we continually questions such a fact. I aim to show this notion in three steps, from youth-to adolescence-to marriage- and how the cycle never ends.
As you can tell, I am completely infatuated with themes of continuation, and cycles. I don't in anyway consider myself a feminist, yet I seem to gravitate towards that genre.

In Progress Report
I forgot to post my progress over the weekend!
I've modified my project a little so that I could capture as much footage within the limited amount of time I had. If you don't remember, mine was on the subject of bodily decay, only I ran into some major obstacles because THE ANTS WOULD NOT EAT THE DEAD ANIMALS. So after many hours of sitting like a proper creeper in the parking lot, filming ants not-eat the dead animals, I called it a day and took a different approach.
I was really fascinated by the way Danse Macabre was filmed, so I did something similar with the animals. It's less about the corrosive process and more about the stillness versus movement of the body in death using the two animal corpses I found. After much sloshing through a questionable canal, I got what footage I wanted!

Final Project Progress
For this I will continue my idea about the conversation about love & lust inspired by Candace Breitz. The lab was closed this weekend and i'm having a hard time finding people to participate in my video but I should have things edited smoothed out by critique. I plan on doing my critique in our usually classroom, using 3-4 of the monitors.
Final Project Inspiration
For this final project I will talk about my difficult to study abroad. Live in a different country with no family is really hard, and since I am here I had some troubles!! This video will be personal and I will talk about myself.
It will be like Art Must be Beautiful - Marina Abramovic.
I will shot only my face and talk a lot in my own language, for my audience understand I will put subtitles.

Final Project In-Progress Update
Last week, I intended my project to be a recorded performative piece. It was supposed to take place in our new house under construction, but by the time I came home, the construction crew's schedule and an newly constructed unsightly wall ruined my vision. It would have been a piece of a person performing different actions, to represent self expression and statements about the self, occurring in this unfinished space.
Still inspired by the idea of strange and personal forms of self expression, I photographed people and their belongings. People's "things" reveal a lot about them, for example, their shoes. I want 2 side-by-side projections: one being a reel of portraits, the other being a reel of objects. It would be interesting to go against people's expectations, and mix the items with the incorrect owners.
