Transitions, Filters, and Titles Practice

All of these should be in order.
Transitions
1.     Simple cross dissolve between the monkey video and SpongeBob clip. I also used this in multiple areas of the video.
2.     Fade in and out from black. During beginning and end of each practice group.
3.     I modified a cross dissolve transition’s parameters at the end of the first panda video, it looks like the video is over but it then it starts back for a second and goes away again.

Filters
1.     I used a flip and vignette filter on two clips. Flipped on the monkey video and then vignette on the SpongeBob clip.
2.     I used the sepia filter and modified its parameters. It starts out VERY strong but it fades as the clip continues. This was used on the Panda video.
3.     To animate my video I used the kaleidoscope effect on the Panda video.
4.     I used the Color Correct filter to change the color of the monkey video; I made it more orange and dim.
5.     I used the Motion Stabilizer feature because I could not find the Smooth Cam filter. I used this on the panda video.

Titles
1.     I found this funny haikus online:
            Haikus are poems,
            Sometimes, they are confusing,
            Refrigerator.
2.     I used the title options to make three lines in different fonts and different sizes for my Haiku.
3.     I used the Mondrian text effect, it made three lines of the poem come into the frame in various times and in different direction. I love this text effect.
4.     I also used the in the lower third and rolling text.

Transitions, Filters, and Titles Worksheet

Please make a video of three parts, one for transitions, one for filters, and one for titles.
Use your footage or footage you find on the Internet.
Your videos do not have to be art or even make sense. You are practicing sets of skills.
Duration of the video: up to 2 minutes.
Please post videos to Vimeo. Be sure to title with your name.

1.     Place a simple cross dissolve between two clips.

2.     Put a transition at the beginning and end of a clip to fade in and out from black. (start and end transition on edit)

Filters

1.     Place a flop and vignette filter on two clips respectively.

2.     Choose a sepia filter and modify its parameters. Please also write very briefly on the blog how you modified the filter. Be sure to tell me the name of the filter that you are modifying.

3.     Animate (using one animation motion effect) over the course of a clip, a filter over time

4.     Color correct one of your clips using the THREE WAY Color Correct filter.

5.     Learn to use the Smooth Cam filter to correct bumpy footage. If you do not have bumpy footage here, capture one with the QuickTime.

Titles
Please create a video with the following characteristics:
1.     Create a haiku poem 5 syllables first line, 7 syllables second line, 5 syllables third line.

2.     Using the titling options (text) to make your three lines in different fonts and different sizes.
