Notes on Anticipation

a calm
quiet
bedroom
and she is brushing her hair
setting her alarm
turning off the light
an unseen spectator
spots it's target
it sets its sights
and it retreats
watches
waits
for her to make it
finally she's settled in
and finally she's fast asleep
and finally all seems calm
but
it's here!
and she doesn't even know!
and it's reaching for her!
...but?
it's tucking her in...how nice?
is that all....
